Source: A Pride's pride journey to the barrio
Truly it wasn't an easy journey but undeniably a fun and a once-in a lifetime experience. I grew up in a barrio not far from the heart of our municipality so having access to essential things and social services is as easy as a 15-minute motorcycle trip.
However, not every one is in the same boat as I do. For people from mountainous residential areas, this is more like a play with the devil caused by the distance due to developing and or under-construction barangay roads connecting to the national highway which adds fuel to the fire.
I've heard about the Government On Wheels (GOW) of our LGU since I have seen online but I honestly don't have any clue about what is it about until I've given the chance to get involved in.
The GOW held on 28th of June is indeed an eye opener for me. I've learned to appreciate how important having access to basic social services is.
Seeing how the different sectors and departments working together in rendering service to what every Sibagatnon should have is truly heart-warming. Amidst all the difficulties especially in transportation, the burning passion for service did really take over – this initiative and genuine act is significantly impactful in many ways and I commend every people who are part of that.
Lastly, I know we still have a long way to go but seeing how our LGU is thriving for its constituents– no matter how slow the progress is as long as they are consistently ascending, for a youth like me, this is an assurance that one day, Sibagat and its people will prosper and no one will be deprived of any services that each of one of the Sibagatnon should have.
