MASA Strongly opposes Charter Change

READ: The Mindanawon Anthropological Society of the Ateneo strongly opposes the Charter Change or Cha-Cha.

In line with the 38th anniversary of EDSA People Power, MASA’s campaign against potential threats to our democratic rights continues. At present, our democracy is threatened by the proposed Charter Change, or Cha-Cha, which aims to amend the 1987 Constitution that came as a result of the historic EDSA uprising. 

 

We invite Ateneans and the larger Filipino population to oppose Cha-Cha as it could pave the way for abuse of power, erode checks and balances, and jeopardize our hard-fought freedoms.

Let your voice be heard. Stand against Charter Change and protect the integrity of our Constitution. Together, we can safeguard our democracy for generations to come.
