All Roads Lead to EDSA! LRC joined fellow indigenous rights advocates and various other movements yesterday in commemorating the EDSA People Power Revolution in protest of the renewed push for charter change.
Easing restrictions on foreign land ownership is like an eviction notice waiting to be served to indigenous communities. The proposed lifting of restrictions on foreign ownership of public utilities and the potential insertion of provisions opening up lands to foreign ownership promises prosperity.
Still, it's a one-sided deal that threatens to override the right to self -determination, ancestral domains, and free, prior, and informed consent of IPs with foreign investment guarantees.
