KATARUNGAN, HINDI AWA!
Di na po bababa sa 100 ang namatay sa mga Non-Moro Indigenous Peoples ng Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao since 2018. Marami po sa mga pandarahas na ito ay naging laman ng balita, naiparating sa mga ahensya ng gobyerno sa BARMM at Republika ng Pilipinas. Maging ang mga Non-Government institutions ay naging katuwang na rin upang ang mga kasong ito at ang buong kalagayan ng mga NMIPs ay mailahad sa publiko sa rehiyon at maging sa buong bansa.
Idinulog na rin po lalo pa ng mga NMIPs ang kanilang kalagayan at panawagan ng hustisya sa Komite ng Cultural Communities sa House of Representatives, sa National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, Bangsamoro Ministry on Indigenous Peoples Affairs, hanggang sa security sector at Commission on Human Rights at Bangsamoro Regional Human Rights Commission ngunit mukhang sa tuwing paglalahad ng kanilang kwneto at hinaing sa mga pandarahas at kanilang pagsusulong sa karapatan sa lupaing ninuno ay may buhay na nakikitil.
Sila na mga pamilya at mga biktima ng pandarahas ay sila pa ang natatakot dahil sa bawat paglalantad ay may natutumba.

Last September 30, 2025 Timuay Ramon Lupos was brutally murdered (beheaded) in a Barangay of Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur. While an elder of the Teduray-Lambangian tribe Fernando Promboy in Maguindanao del Sur who went missing on Feb. 17, 2025 was found dead (beheaded) on February 20 (Thursday) in the same town. On October - December 2024, NMIP Angan couple and Ricky were also reported murdered separately. All of these brutal killings happened in Datu Hoffer town.
Councilor Elvin Moires, a Non-Moro Indigenous Peoples Teduray leader, was murdered (September 17, 2024 at 10 o’clock in the evening) in Barangay Bongo, South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur. The murder took place month after the murder of South Upi Vice Mayor Roldan Benito and bodyguard Weng Marcos on August 2, 2024 while on their way to the Vice Mayor’s residence in Barangay Pandan of the same municipality....
Way back in October 2, 2014, Teduray leader Leoncio Arig was shot dead in Sitio Keninan, Barangay Ramongaob, South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur. And former Brgy Councilor Nicasio Mindo, a Teduray community leader in South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur was killed in an ambush on July 25, 2025.
The BARMM Interim Chief Minister, the Office of the Presidential Special Assistant for Mindanao, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, and some other regional and national political entities and government institutions have released press statements condemning the September 30 brutal killing.
It has been like that in the past. Statements, orders for investigations, congressional and senate inquiries, executive directives, etc, BUT NOTHING HAPPENS! CAN THEY MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS TIME?
