17 - in times of the 12th Year Commemoration of Typhoon Sendong in
2011, leaders and members of the Iligan Survivors Movement (ISM), RDRRAC
and other networt members of MIHANDS Northern Mindanao Region will be
having a KAMUSTAHAN and CANDLE LIGHTING where sharing of experiences and
status updates about their continuing struggles for resettlements,
rehabilitation and claims for durable solutions remain an uphill fight
of all living survivors.
Candles, prayers and songs will also be
offered for all departed souls whose lives were lost as result of
wanton degration of the environment in this city and neighboring
municipalities.
We enjoin everyone to show solidarity and to
continuously support in any form (material, financial, human and
voluntary) the struggle of the former IDPs especially grassroots
people's organizations of Sendong survivors.
The event will be
held at Iligan Bay Vista Village Gymnasium, Purok 5-D Paitan, Dalipuga,
Iligan City. Around 5:00-6:30 in the evening.
