"No to Mineral Reservation" read why?

REASONS FOR OUR NON-NEGOTIABLE OPPOSITION TO THE PROPOSED PROCLAMATION OF MINERAL RESERVATION AREA

1. The 3,566 hectares proposed Proclamation for Mineral Reservation Area in portions of Barangays Rëmongaob and Kuya, South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur is part and parcel of a unified Ancestral Domain privately and communally owned by the Tëduray and Lambangian NMIPs with or without Title;

2. The apllication for Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT) was processed by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) since 2005 pursuant to Republic Act 8371 also known as the IPRA. Processing was already completed, pending only the issuance of CADT for formal recognition;

3. There are various traditional villages and communities of the Lambangian and Tëduray Non-Moro IPs within the proposed Mineral Reservation Area;

4. The area proposed for Mineral Reservation Area is below the location of the Municipal Hall of South Upi, in one of the identified barangays, the Barangay Romongaob and even the adjacent open pit mining, the mountains will be inverted. Naturally, the areas above will be flattened by natural phenomenon in the future. There are only few forest cover in the area abd if mining will be in placed, the remaining forest cover will be affected by open pit mining operation there also sacred sites ofvthe Lambangian and burial grounds of their ancestors in the area.The location of the Municipal Hall above the proposed Mineran Reservation Area will be greatly affected.

For the Tëduray and Lambangian Lambangian Non-Moro IPs, these are non-negotiable positions
