TRIPOD - Workshop for Security Sector on Human Rights and Peace

 

 On December 7-8, 2023, TRIPOD Foundation conducted the Workshop for Security Sector on Human Rights and Peace under the Freedom of Religion and Belief (FoRB) program participated by Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs), Barangay Tanods in 3 Brgys in Cotabato City and 1 brgy in Sultan Kudarat Maguindanao del Norte - Rosary Heights XI, Rosary Heights VI, Mother Bagua and Barangay Limbo, Sultan Kudarat Maguindanao del Norte.

 

The Workshop focuses on strengthening collaborative efforts among community members with the Security Sector and partner communities in protecting Human Rights, eliminating biases, discrimination, and hate speech, and helping counter violence and Extremism. Especially now that minority nationalities and vulnerable sectors of our society continue to experience biases, discrimination, and challenges in the implementation of laws and policies. 

 

We invited the PNP from Cotabato City Police Office: 

 

PLT. Kenneth Van A. Encabo, Chief Human Officer Cotabato City Police Office shared the input on Human Rights Orientation in the Security sector. 

 

PEMS Rochelle D. Evangelista, Chief of Clerk, Community Affairs & Development Unit of Cotabato City Police Office shared the input on Mechanism for Community Participation on Countering Violence Extremism.
