Bunal Choy!
It's to inspire, to motivate, to encourage not just an expression.
Let us cross through the hard, dark and difficult road towards the destination/goal, so we need to bunal...
If we are to define sustainable development, we need a concrete model and practice.
And the narrative behind FLORA Tilapia Hatchery and the dream and vision of Boss Reynand Pajaganas Flora should be told.
The Flora Tilapia Hatchery in Purok 2, Kioya, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur is a family farm of the Flora family. It's a farm long before. The tilapia Hatchery has only been developed in 2021 from two-box ponds.
This process was very inspiring too after Reynand left urban life during the peak of the pandemic, went back home and cultivated the land and what was available. It's a story of Pagpadayon...
Later thru public and private support like that of the Provincial and municipal government programs, regular conversations with supportive friends and importantly by the persistence of the family little by little the farm has expanded from a fingerling hatchery to a farm to visit contributing to community development.
Reynand in conversations with friends around explored online story telling of the daily life in farm. Bunal Choy then has become a sensation and inspired people, workers, families to cross the challenges in lives and lives. Many others have been convinced to go back to their farms and cultivate, others expressed happiness to have seen young people like Reynand loving his farm and bukid life. This also proved that environmental care will surely give life to people not destruction.
Little by little the family farm provides unidentified impacts to the community. Unidentified in a sense that these contributions were not part of the plan when FTH was pursued. The neighbors earn from the works in the farm, habal-habal drivers earn from the folks coming in and out from the farm, and some of their infrastructure development that benefits the whole community. Of course it's not all because of the FTH but, FTH have been successful in bringing in the public how important improving support services to communities by the agencies as it should be.
Importantly, FTH has become a place of many processes as a model of the intersectionality of family livelihood, nature and water and the community development.
Thanks Flora family for your persistence and consistency.
Ecological Development is true!
A development that does not destroy but gives life and opportunities to grow for the community.
