M4PEACE Regional Committee on the final Stretch of the BARMM Election Preparations
COTABATO CITY — The IM4PEACE Regional Committee convened today (September 10, 2026) to finalize critical protocols for coordination, reporting, documentation, and the retrieval of Election Returns (ERs) ahead of Monday's historic Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) elections.
The hybrid regional meeting featured online participation from the Lanao del Sur committee, ensuring synchronized operations across all provinces. The session opened with live, on-the-ground updates regarding election dynamics and local security conditions. Following the regional assembly, the Lanao del Sur delegation conducted its own detailed planning session to align provincial execution with regional frameworks.
Simultaneously, the IM4PEACE cluster covering Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Cotabato City, and the Special Geographic Area (SGA) moved into fine-tuning their deployment strategy.
During the cluster meeting, Fr. Ben Toreto of the Cotabato City Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) provided an orientation to key stakeholders. Under this joint monitoring setup, the majority of IM4PEACE volunteers across municipalities in Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, the SGA, and Cotabato City will serve directly as PPCRV volunteers on election day.
A core team of IM4PEACE cluster leaders will be stationed directly inside the PPCRV Command and Nerve Center in Cotabato City. They will help oversee operations on election day, specifically managing incident reporting, volunteer monitoring, and the physical retrieval and verification of precinct-level Election Returns.
Tomorrow, teams are dispatched to pay courtesy visits with Election Officers and volunteer focal leaders on the ground, while another team are to finalize the logistical needs and the distribution, and volunteers led by the monitoring and documentation committee are to continue listening and watching on the ground developments.
